Michael W. Baumstark, President
Mike is the principal owner and President of the company. In addition to managing company operations, business planning and compliance, he specializes in Financial Planning, Smart Education Strategies and Insurance (insurance on a commission or fee basis) for our clients. He is an experienced speaker, having taught numerous classes and presented numerous seminars to various groups on diverse topics.
Mike retired from the U.S. Navy in 1993. During his 21-year military career, he served as a U.S. Naval Officer, a helicopter pilot, and a Military Intelligence Officer. His last active duty assignments included serving as Defense Intelligence Liaison to the White House Staff under George H.W. Bush, to the President’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board and to the National Security Council in Washington, D.C. Mike is a licensed commercial pilot, qualified in helicopters and fixed-wing (single and multi-engine) aircraft with full-instrument capability. He also holds a Master’s Degree in National Security Affairs/Scientific and Technical Intelligence from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. Mike has served as an elected member of the Northern Virginia Salvation Army Advisory Council, and is an active participant in his church. He also serves as an appointed Trustee to the Prince William County Police, Fire and Rescue Supplemental Pension Fund.
Mike has always been interested in complex systems. During his college education, he excelled in Chemistry and Math and earned a B.S. in Microbiology from San Diego State University. He is leader who is very adept at solving complex problems by working with teams and using systems, automation, and computers. As a result, he has been able to form a top quality team, while utilizing the best software and informational systems to best serve his clients. He also earned an M.A. degree in National Security Affairs (Scientific and Technical Intelligence Specialization) from the Naval Postgraduate School that gives him a special edge in the financial services arena, allowing him to assess political, economic and technical issues and determine how they relate to client planning.
